Our Seven Step Process
Value Build Homes has developed a simple 7 step process to ensure that every new home construction matches our exacting standards. This also makes it easy for every homebuyer to understand what is happening at every stage of the process.
STEP 01 | DESIGNING YOUR DREAM HOME
Our New Home Consultant will help you choose a floor plan tailored to your preferences. By considering your feedback and budget, they will create a plan that meets your needs while staying within your financial limits. You’re now ready to sign the Purchase Agreement, which outlines key details such as the cost and your selections, and begin your exciting new home journey.
STEP 02 | ON-SITE LAND DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL MEETING
We’re excited to schedule your On-Site Meeting within TWO business days of signing your Purchase Agreement! During this visit, a Value Build Homes Representative will join you at your property to offer expert advice on the best placement for your new home, ensuring a perfect balance of curb appeal and value. By the end of this meeting, we’ll finalize the investment amount. Your presence is essential for this important step!
Land Specialist Meeting
Don’t have land yet? No worries! Our Land Specialist typically finds land within FIVE business days of your signed Purchase Agreement.
STEP 03 | SELECTIONS MEETING
To be completed within EIGHT days of Land Development Approval Meeting. In this meeting, you’ll have the opportunity to select and approve all the features, finishes, products, cabinets, and colors for your new home! Please be aware that this meeting focuses only on these aesthetic choices; any structural or floor plan changes must be finalized with your New Home Specialist before the Selections Meeting.
STEP 04 | DESIGN AUTHORIZATION MEETING
To be completed within Thirty days after the Purchase Agreement. In this crucial step, you and your New Home Consultant will review and finalize all plans, specifications, and selections. This is your final opportunity to make any non-structural adjustments to your home plan and selections without incurring administrative fees.
Once the Design Authorization Meeting is complete, ValueBuild Homes will proceed with finalizing your home plans for construction, securing permits, ordering materials, and scheduling all the trade partners needed to bring your new home to life.
STEP 05 | PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING
To be completed within Forty-Five days of the Break Ground Date. We’re on the brink of starting construction! In this important meeting, you and your Division Manager will review the entire building process.
Following this meeting, all communication will be directed to your Project Manager, who will oversee the construction of your home. Given their busy schedule and occasional limited access to certain areas, please allow up to two days for a response. Keep in mind that your Project Manager is responsible for multiple projects, so they may not be on-site every day.
STEP 06 | BUILDING YOUR HOME
Phase 1: Initial Land Preparation
Your excavation contractor starts by addressing all site-specific requirements to ensure your land is thoroughly prepared.
Phase 2: Footings
After determining your home’s precise location, your excavator will dig trenches and pour concrete footings according to local codes, setting a solid foundation for your new home.
Phase 3: Foundation
With the footings in place, we construct the foundation, making adjustments as needed based on the land’s characteristics.
Phase 4: Framing
Framing brings your vision to life! You’ll see the floor system, interior and exterior walls, and roof start to take shape, giving you a preview of your future home.
Phase 5: Rough-In
We install electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, along with siding, insulation, exterior doors, and windows.
Phase 6: Drywall
Drywall is hung, secured, and finished. We also complete any stonework and gutter details during this phase.
Phase 7: Trim, Interior Doors & Cabinets
This phase includes the installation of trim, interior doors, and cabinets, as well as templating the countertops.
Phase 8: Painting
Paint is applied to all interior and exterior walls, adding vibrancy and character to your home.
Phase 9: Flooring
We install your selected floor coverings, providing the final touch to your home’s interior.
Phase 10: Cleaning & Wrapping Up
Your Project Manager will carefully inspect each room, addressing any minor details to ensure everything is perfect.
STEP 07 | NEW HOME ORIENTATION & CLOSING
In this final phase, your Project Manager will walk you through your new home, identifying any last tasks that need to be completed before your move-in. After you provide your written acceptance, we’ll arrange the Key Exchange so you can begin enjoying your new home!
